About me:

I needed a hobby to get away from the computer.  Having a family member who enjoyed knife making and who was willing to mentor me. (He has since then lost his fight to cancer Easter Sunday 2011), I set up a work station in my garage and started my knife making hobby.  Forging is now an added element to my knife making and I'm working on creating my own style and continuously learning the art of handcrafting knives and sheaths.  

I live in Georgia and my mentor lived in Europe.  We communicated several times a week via Skype.  He could actually watch me work and guide me along even though we lived continents apart.  Isn't technology amazing?

I have also been apprentice with a local blacksmith for some time now, in order to become a true bladesmith, I wanted to learn the basics and more about metallurgy, and what actually happens when you hammer on a hot piece of metal.
